First defeat of the season for A team yesterday and with Bristol thrashing Wilts leaves it very tight at the top.
Great win for the Ladies leves them 12 clear of Somerset.
B Team
Started well winning first set 7-4 but the wheels came off in the 2nd and 3rd with 8-3 and 7-4 losses, including a run of winning only 1 frame from 13. Left us trailing 19-14 going into final session and needing an 8-3 to force a draw. We pulled out all the stops and at one point it even looked like we could actually win but eventually it came down to Dave Eden and Ady Bowden to win the last two frames for the draw. A great recovery and in the end a fair result but we really should have done better in the middle sessions. Bristols expected win at Wilts means we drop to 4th place but only 11 points off Somerset at the top. If we can get our act together, a big win at Wilts next game and then wins over Bristol at home and Somerset away will give us a chance of going to Yarmouth.
Its a bit crap that people keep pulling out of the Money Leagues! If you cant commit to the full term then dont bother entering and messing it up for everybody else, not least you Paul.
Im not saying this because i got a sweet 7-0 over a certain person who pulled out i just think its annoying.
I have said my peice :-)
hi steve, not sure about anyone else mate but i always keep an eye on your updates.
good bit of captaincy, well done. keep it up. a good win against Cornwall next month will keep us in the running. lets hope Dorset can take a few off somerset. come on Devon Boys & ladies, lets get ourselves to yarmouth!!!
Not sure if anybody reads this anymore but anyway

Sunday 11th April - Devon v Somerset
A team won 23-21, could have been better but at 23-17 lost last 4 frames. 8 pointgs clear of Cornwall at the top.
Ladies 22-22, were 22-17 up but lost last 5 frames, leaves them 1 point in front of Somerset.
B team 19-25, a very disappointing result went 5-0 down and never recovered, will need to pull our fingers out as are now 19 points adrift of Cornwall and 3 behind Somerset who have now played ourselves, Bristol and Cornwall and are likely to pull further in front with Wilts and Dorset to play.

i.p.a report from the pool weekend......... it was a great weekend travelling up to hinkley ....... at the weekend dave williams beat jason twist, dave played really well, alex put on a big performance and won one of his matches, jez had world champions thrown at him, i would like to say jez was doing really well against the raining world champion. i would like to say a big thank you to everybody for their support over the weekend my highlight was over 100 people watching me playing the qualifying world championships were i won 6-5 without a shdow of a doubt. take care pepsi mania fans until i play again. xpepsix

Hello pepsi mania fans this week has been hectic losing to england international Dave Williams 6-5 being 5-1 down with a nice crowd enjoying the show.
Then going out with world record holder Stuart Good when he lost to me 12-5 as we celebrated that night we enjoyed ourselfs at view 2 with live bands and great atmosphere and it was nice to get out. then saturday came and it was show time at bideford in the anchor. I walked in to a gun salute we i was taken back my the eruption of of my fans in bideford. PEPSI was here. we won the team event 26-10 and the atmosphere was electrifying i did some trickshots for the fans and contributed to the kareoke by singing 4 songs encluding WILDBOYZ were all the team stood on stage singing with me. when i left i had a standing elvation. I would like to say thanks to every1 for a fantastic night in bideford im going away to pensance for 3 days then to birmingham to play with the greatest players in the country so look out for me LIVE AROUND THE WORLD (ONLINE TV) WWW.IPA.ORG till then Pepsi mania fans take care love the FIZZ xpepsix

I would've preferred Wiltshire to stay in our region. The venue was nice last year and the tables were pretty good. Removing Wiltshire means Devon are going to lose out on 'easy' points too! ![]()

Wouldn't have thought its costs that much once you claim the expenses back, and I thought their new venue was pretty good last year. Cant say I had any issues with the tables.
I think its a shame they are moving regions as its 2 less games a season for us, and part of the enjoyment of county pool is travelling away from home.

Good! It costs a bloody fortune to drive to Swindon and their tables are horrendous!

EPA are re-organising to make 8 regions instead of 7, so max of 6 teams in any region. Some currently have 7. This is to reduce travelling for some counties. Will mean defending county champs will not qualify for next years finals. 8 region winners only to go to nationals.
Because of the travelling to Cornwall there are no other counties to put in our region so we will be one of 5 regions with only 5 teams.

As of 2011 Wiltshire will no longer be in our region, seems we will be a 5 team region so only 8 matches in a year not 10. Comments please is this good or bad?

Jamie and Pepsi here to do a report of the following 3 man challenge. We have Sean Magoogan who is a master of pool and the master himself Paul Balston. Joining them will be the new kid on the block, my apprentice, Darren McVicar Vs team captain Jez Graham, one of the top professionals in the 8 ball world and a showman, need i say more than MR MATT WALKER!!! And i will be joining them the one and only Pepsi! This will go live at the Plaza and a date will be coming soon so sit back and enjoy some of the most entertaining potting, safety play and some fizzing from the Pep's. Take care pool fans. x Pepsi x
Ps Paul Balston is doing everything he can to keep these spam people away as this is our pool website not a sandwich counter! Take care. Pepsi and Jamie.

Going Live Sean Mcgoogan Vs pepsi At the Plaza ..... 18.30 in a mo......... xpepsix

Just wanna say well done to all the devon players for this weekend...think everyone did little old Devon proud!!!

Come on Devon, come on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
